Povzetek:

Početkom 18. stoljeća na Madagaskaru postoji gusarska Republika Libertatia koja ugrožava pomorske trgovačke putove do Indije. Britanska mornarica ubacuje među gusare svog agenta, časnika Briana Hawkea, čiji je zadatak onesposobiti fortifikacijsku liniju gusarske obrane. Hawke među gusarima nalazi i gusaricu, gđicu Stevens zvanu Spitfire, koja mu se odmah svidi, ali uskoro on postaje objekt čežnje mlade princeze Patme, kćeri indijskog mogula koju je zarobio glavni gusar Libertatije, opasni kapetan Roc Brasiliano...

"Protiv svih zastava" vrlo je zabavan film pustolovno-gusarskog žanra, koji je redatelj George Sherman, vrlo plodni i pouzdani zanatlija klasičnog holivudskog razdoblja, vješto opskrbio s pregršt humora. Zanimljiva i sigurno vođena priča, slikovit dizajn prepun jarkih boja te velike glumačke zvijezde Errol Flynn (Pustolovine Robina Hooda, Umrli su u čizmama, Gentleman Jim), Maureen O'Harra (Kako je bila zelena moja dolina, Miran čovjek) te Anthony Quinn (Viva Zapata!, Grk Zorba; Ulica) u glavnim ulogama bit će privlačni i današnjoj publici.
