Povzetek:
Set in the 1970s in a pretty corner of India, Barfi! is the story of three young people who learn that love can neither be defined nor contained by society's norms of normal and abnormal. Barfi, a hearing and speech impaired boy falls in love with Shruti. In spite of her deep affection for Barfii, Shruti gives into societal and parental pressure to marry a 'normal' man and lead a 'normal' life. Barfi! (2012) je indijska romantična komedija čija je radnja postavljena u vrijeme
1970 tih i koju je napisao i režirao Anurag Basu.
To je priča o Barfiju, nijemom i gluhom dječaku iz Darjeelinga i njegovom odnosu
sa dvije djevojke od kojih je jedna autistična.
Troje mladih ljudi moraju da nauče da ljubav ne može da se definiše u okviru
postojećih društvenih normi ni kao normalno, ni kao nenormalno stanje.
Tako se Barfi zaljubi u Šruti, ali ona ne može da se odupre pritisku porodice
da se uda za "normalnog čoveka" i vodi "normalan život".
Mnogo godina kasnije, njihovi putevi se ponovo ukrštaju. Ali, sada je Barfi
u ljubavi s Džilmil, a i u bekstvu od - policije! Jer, njegova voljena je nestala.
Šruti shvata da ga još uvek voli...
