Frightmare (1974)

Dorothy Yates so leta 1957 hospitalizirali na psihiatrični kliniki zaradi vrste umorov in ljudožerstva, ki jih je zagrešila s svojim vdanim možem Edmundom. Zakonca sta 18 let pozneje uradno ozdravljena; zapustita umobolnico ter se ustalita na neki stari odmaknjeni kmetiji. Edmundova hči Jackie živi v mestu, od koder skuša skrbeti za svojo divjo mlajšo sestro Debbie; starša obišče le redko in nikoli ne posumi o tem, da bi bilo kaj narobe. Vsaj dokler se za čudaške svojce ne začne zanimati njen novi fant Graham, ki je psihiater, in tedaj tudi Jackie naposled spozna grozljivo resnico. Dorothy, ki v prostem času dela kot vedeževalka, je daleč od tega, da bi kdaj umsko okrevala - pač pa s pretvezo branja usode iz kart za tarot v svoj dom privablja nič hudega sluteče tujce in jih tam s hladnim orožjem surovo pobija. In ne samo to, tudi mlada Debbie je, kot kaže, nasledila kanibalska nagnjenja svoje blazne matere. Krvavo soočenje, ki mu sledi srhljiv epilog, je neizogibno.
