    Na samom završetku američkog građanskog rata negdje u Nevadi bojnik Matt Stewart
    predvodi skupinu vojnika Konfederacije u akciji pljačke velike pošiljke unionističkog zlata. 
    Nakon što njegovi ljudi pobiju gotovo sve vojnike iz pratnje pošiljke, Matt od umirućeg neprijateljskog vojnika 
    dozna je rat već završio. Ne zna vjerovati ili ne, te odluči s najbližim suradnikom Rolphom Bainterom 
    i drugim vojnicima vratiti se kući. No kad vijesti o pokolju vojnika i krađi zlata stignu do jedne razbojničke skupine,
