Povzetek:

Film je snimljen prema poznatom istoimenom romanu Octavea Mirbeaua iz 1900. godine i ujedno je treća filmska adaptacija tog romana. Pratimo život Céléstine, sobarice koja je dobila novi posao na seoskom imanju obitelji Lanlaires. Obitelj čine gospodin Lanlaire, koji ima fetiš na cipele i u stalnom je lovu na životinje i žene te njegova frigidna žena. Céléstine će se morati naučiti snalaziti u novom okruženju kojeg čine još i Joseph, vrtlar koji joj udvara te susjed, bivši oficir koji naprosto ne podnosi gospodina Lanlairea.
