Trueba ima specifičan stil koji prevashodno čine interesantni dijalozi i lagani ritam koji u pojedinim momentima eskalira u kratkotrajne vrtloge, a onda se brzo vraća prvobitnom lelujanju. Ovaj film sadrži sve ove elemente, ali je oplemenjen sjajnom muzikom i dijalozima u formi pisama. Pravi ljubavni film bez imalo patetike i patosa. Zbog dugačkih dijaloga dvoje glavnih aktera, malo podseća na Before Sunrise.
