Val je mlada Francozinja z velikimi sanjami. Želi si postati uspešna igralka, zato spakira kovčke in se preseli v New York. Tam kmalu spozna, da veliko mesto ni tako bleščeče, kot je sprva mislila. Med skakanjem z ene avdicije na drugo upa, da se ji bo enkrat nasmehnila sreča.
