Povzetek:
Prodavac Norman Šilds iz Londona, sticajem okolnosti odlučuje da postane novinar, iako vrlo malo zna o tom poslu.
Odlazi u primorski gradić i tamo započinje istraživački rad. Veoma brzo njegovi tekstovi postaju zapaženi i tamošnja vrhuška se interesuje za njega.
