Povzetek:

Družino Clockovih sestavljajo nekaj centimetrov veliki škratje, ki živijo pod hišnim podom. Hišo si delijo z običajno človeško družino Lender, od katere si sposojajo vse vrste reči, na primer sukanec, baterije ali pa drobtinice hrane. Njihovo sožitje lepega dne poruši prihod zlobnega odvetnika Ociusa P. Potterja, ki ukrade oporoko pravkar preminulega hišnega gospodarja in se polasti hiše. Potter namerava hišo porušiti in na njenem mestu zgraditi luksuzna stanovanja, Clockovi pa si bodo zato morali poiskati nov dom. A vse še ni izgubljeno.
