Povzetek:
V filmski klasiki, posneti po romanu Ernesta Hemingwaya, spremljamo Spencerja Tracyja v vlogi kubanskega starca, ki ždi sredi morja in skuša k čolnu privleči veliko ribo, ki se je ujela na njegov trnek.
