Mladi Robin Hood, zaljubljen u ledi Marian, prijavi se sa svojim ocem na natjecanje iz streličarstva u kraljevoj palači. Na povratku kući, njegova ova ubiju pristalice princa Johna. Robin nakon toga postane bandit i počne okupljati svoju veselu družinu u Sherwoodskoj šumi kako bi se osvetio za oca i pomogao ljudima kojima princ John nameće prevelike poreze.
