The Watermelon Woman (1996)

Cheryl Dunye je mlada crna lezbijka koja živi u Philadelphiji i postaje opsjednuta učenjem o crnačkoj glumici iz 1930-ih, koju naziva Žena lubenica, a poznata je po ulogama majki. Na osnovu Dunyeinog iskustva istražujući glumice crne puti, izmislila je lik kao fantaziju i preobražaj. Ona radi u videoteci, gdje upoznaje Dianu (Guinevere Turner) i prima savjete o vezama od svoje urnebesne prijateljice Tamare (Valarie Walker).
