Povzetek:

A man, a woman and their four daughters live in a log cabin in a snowed-in village that lies jammed between high rocky mountains. The catholic belief and strong belief in sagas has a great influence on their daily lives. After an accident whereby the man dies, the woman and their adult daughters are left behind in mourning. At that moment the atmosphere of the film becomes dreamy. A sort of winter sleep. Deermen appear. They are figures who determine the duration of the mourning period. The widow wants to be remarried for quite some time, because a life in the mountains is too difficult for a woman alone with four daughters. The deermen have no intention to end the mourning period, as they have a secret affair with her daughters. And as soon as they would "release" the widow, would the daughters be allowed to marry. Radnja se odvija u, valjda, Alpima. Otac gine nesrećnim slučajem, a majka sa 4 odrasle ćerke ostaje usred zime sama u kući. One žive u selu, ali sela kao da nema, svi su izolovani i žive svoje živote. A oni su svedeni na svakodnevni rad i molitvu. Ćerke naravno maštaju o udaji i mladićima, onda se odnekud pojave ljudi-jeleni i snovi se mešaju sa stvarnošću. Neki se završe srećno, neki tužno.

Ovakve filmove ne vredi ni prepričavati ni tumačiti, ko ih voli, voleće i ovaj, ko ne voli, neka ga preskoči.
Turobna atmosfera, jednoličnost, odsustvo dijaloga (ono što je bilo za prevod su reči molitve i jedne tužne pesme), blag upliv više nelagode nego horora, misteriozne pojave i fantastična fotografija ostaviće jak utisak, ali samo na one koji vole art filmove.

Ovakvu frizuru ima još samo ona princeza iz Ratova zvezda
