Na meji med Quebecom in Ontariom najdejo truplo hokejskega poslovneža Benoita Brisseta. Primer zato preiskujeta policista iz obeh provinc, ki sta prisiljena združiti moči v želji, da bi našla serijskega morilca. Ta se je očitno odločil, da bo s sveta spravil vse hokejske managerje. Toda angleško govoreči Martin Ward iz Toronta in francosko govoreči David Bouchard iz Montreala imata popolnoma različna pogleda na življenje in svoje delo. Zato je njuno sodelovanje vse prej kot popolno. Kmalu začne morilec ogrožati tudi njiju in njuni družini, zato se znajdeta pod še večjim pritiskom.
