Ovo je prvi film iz trilogije, a Fantômas je postao silno uspješan u Europi, Sovjetskom Savezu i Japanu. Uspio je i u SAD-u gdje dan-danas postoje web-stranice obožavatelja. Opći ton filmova lakši je od originalnih romana Fantômas koje su napisali Pierre Souvestre i Marcel Allain.
