Povzetek:


Ozdravljeni zasvojenec z mamili Tim Brett (David Hemmings) je odločen, da bo razrešil primer nedavnega surovega umora svoje ostarele tete. Na sledi skrivnostne skupine po imenu "The Stepping Stones" spozna nenavadno žensko, ki mu preda neko posebej temačno pismo. Pozneje Tim po pošti prejme še magnetofonski posnetek, ki se konča z zloveščim smehom. Kmalu se izkaže, da je bilo pismo natipkano na Timov pisalni stroj, smeh pa je njegov. Prepričan, da ga nekdo zasleduje ter mu skuša podtakniti krivdo, je Tim vse bolj paranoičen in njegovo zaročenko Julie (Gayle Hunnicutt) začenja skrbeti, da bo povsem izgubil razsodnost - ali pa je se je preprosto preveč približal pravemu storilcu?

    istražiti nedavno ubistvo svoje tetke. Nažalost, zbog njegove prošlosti
    niko nije zainteresovan za njegove teorije – osim, naravno, ubice.
