Povzetek:

Mladi lutalica zvan Freckles (M. West) dolazi na golemo šumsko imanje Johna Mcleana (R. Barcroft) u potrazi za poslom. Isprva sumnjičav prema mladiću koji nije stručnjak ni za što posebno, i još k tomu nema jednu ruku, McLean Frecklesu na koncu ponudi posao čuvara, za što ga obučava McLeanov suradnik Duncan (J. Lambert). Čuvati šumu nije nimalo jednostavno jer ju neprekidno potkrada banda drvosječa predvođena Jackom Barbeauom (S. Pack). Jašući šumskim prostranstvima, Freckles upozna Chris Cooper (C. Christensen), koja osvoji njegovo srce. Jackova banda pokuša podmititi Frecklesa, no on ostaje lojalan gazdi po cijenu vlastita života...
