Z razposajenim poslovnežem Wilhelmom Laserjem na čelu se majhna skupina Nemcev poleti 1898 v pokritih vagonih, z natovorjenimi konji in nekaj skromne lastnine poda za sanjami o sreči in lepši prihodnosti proti nedavno odkritim rudnikom zlata v Dawsonu na severu Kanade. Nenehna negotovost, mraz in izčrpanost zahtevajo svoj davek in spori v skupini se stopnjujejo.
Najnovejši film mojstra berlinske šole je razburljiv vestern o nemških iskalcih zlata na poti čez divjo kanadsko pokrajino, v katerem se v glavnih vlogah predstavita nemška zvezdnica Nina Hoss in slovenski igralec Marko Mandić.
