Povzetek:

Kapetan Henri Rochard (C. Grant), oficir francuske vojske, i američka poručnica Catherine Gates (A. Sheridan) kreću zajedno u misiju zaustavljanja visokog nemačkog naučnika u posleratnoj Nemačkoj. Oni počinju akciju s očitim animozitetom jedno prema drugom, ali nakon niza akcija i vremena provedenog zajedno, zaljube se i odluče zauvek ostati zajedno. Pokušavaju se venčati i naleću na dosta birokratskih problema, a kad američka vojska pozove Catherine da se vrati u Ameriku s ostalim udovicama, izgledaće da će se morati odvojiti od dragog, osim ako ne smisle neko lukavo rešenje...
