Ratna drama bez glorificiranja i odabira zaraćenih strana, bez ratnih junaka i čistokrvnih zločinaca,
postavlja pitanje osvete i ubijanja u ratu.
Kada joj muža ubiju nacisti zbog ukradene vreće cementa, žena se zaklinje na osvetu.
Stariji vojnik ranjen je i uskoro umire, a mlađi, kojem je samo stalo do povratka kući, dospijeva u njene ruke…

Kolima upravlja zarobljena Čehinja (25-godišnja Iva Janžurova), a pozadi su oni koji su je zarobili
– dva neprijateljska vojnika, Austrijanca. Jedan je mladić, a onaj drugi, stariji, teško je ranjen, ali svestan.
U kolima su još – jedna puška, jedan bajonet, jedan pištolj i jedan veliki nož.
