Fanny se ponaša kao svako normalno dete: igra se u parku, uči da svira klavir,
tuče se sa bratom i povremeno se duri u svojoj sobi. Ali činjenica da je Fanny
već zagazila u tridesete, počinje da zabrinjava njenu porodicu.

Fanny živi sa bratom i njegovom ženom u kući njihovog oca. Sa svojim mentalnim
problemima bori se kombinacijom lekova, alkohola i kratkim ispadima nasilnog besa.
Kad jednog dana otkrije da njena snaha ima aferu sa lokalnim trgovcem, Fanny krade
porodični automobil i kreće na "hodočašće" na očev grob u Nemačkoj. Na putu ima
nekoliko manjih avantura, a onda joj se usred mračne šume probuši guma na autu.
U pomoć joj priskače usamljeni pustinjak i među njima počinje da se razvija veza,
nesputana jezičkom barijerom...
