Povzetek:
Potem ko je zakoncema Freddyju in Mary Gale v prometni nesreči umrla hčerka, njun zakon hitro propade. Mary se kasneje znova poroči in skuša pozabiti na tragedijo, medtem ko Freddy postane zagrenjen alkoholik, odločen, da se bo maščeval pijanemu vozniku Johnu Boothu, ki je odgovoren za smrt njegove hčerke.
