The Spiral Staircase (1946)

Spiralne stepenice su remek delo, majstorski izvedena ekspresionistička postavka kamere iz donjih rakursa, svetlosni izvori nasuprot gvozdenih ograda i kružnog stepeništa doprinose jezivosti koja parališe gledaoca. To je takođe i posveta starom podžanru Filmova stare mračne kuće, kao i anticipacija opusa majstora trilera i saspensa 70-tih i 80-tih Džona Karpentera
Film je čedo majstora mračnog saspensa, Roberta Siodmaka i majstora svetla i senki, snimatelja Nikolasa Muzurake. Brilijantan triler kojim bi se Hičkok ponosio da je deo njegovog opusa.
