Povzetek:

Život u japanskim logorima tokom Drugog svetskog rata nemilosrdan je i okrutan, kao i u jednom logoru u Burmi, gde ratni zarobljenici, uglavnom pripadnici škotskog puka, moraju izgraditi deo "Pruge smrti" kroz neprohodnu džunglu između Tajlanda i Burme. Međutim, naijntezivnije bitke dolaze iznutra kada se svaki zarobljenik mora suočiti sa ličnom borbom za slobodu, preživljavanje i nadu usred nehumanosti.
