Triler italijanskog reditelja Lucio Fulca prati život doktora i njegove žene koji je pun laži i obmana. Žena koja sa jedne strane izbegava svog muža pričom da boluje od astme uživa kao striptizeta u noćnom klubu, dok njen muž nalazi utehu u drugim ženama. Sve se menja kada žena umire od astme, a doktor biva proglašen glavnoosumnjičenim, jer pored nesrećnog braka i ljubavnice ima korist i od velike polise osiguranja. Doktor ne veruje u priču o njenoj smrti jer je jednom prilikom u noćnom klubu video ženu koja veoma liči na njegovu pokojnu ženu i pokušava na sve načine da otkrije njen pravi identitet. Na žalost, vreme ističe i on je sve bliži gasnoj komori.
