Jednog dana 1996. sve se menja za trinaestogodišnjeg Johana. Pošto mu kidnapuju oca Johan prvi put u životu doživljava istinski strah. Očeva pisma, ispunjena očajem, stižu do Johana između raznih neuspešnih pokušaja isplate novca kidnaperima. Postepeno postaje jasno da se život njegovog oca može spasiti samo ako porodica ne sledi uputstva policije.
