Povzetek:


Set in the 1830s, this black comedy centers on Helene, a woman who is washed ashore after her ship is wrecked off the English coast. There, she is courted by Edmund, a local pastor, and they soon get married under the understanding that Helene is still pure. However, she has a dark past that she must hide from him. When Helene moves into Edmund's home, she falls under the watchful eye of housekeeper Dorothy, who is more than a little involved in her master's life and quite obsessed with his dead first wife, Arabelle, to whom, in her opinion, Helene simply does not compare. While Helene battles to keep her past a secret, she must navigate Dorothy's devious scheming, her husband's harsh critique and a potential new love interest in the form of Dr. Foggerty.

    Negde u XIX veku, nakon što je preživela težak brodolom, Helene (Alexandra Roach; Being Human, The Iron Lady,  The Suspicions of Mr Whicher) uspeva da se dokopa obale blizu jednog engleskog sela, gde se ubrzo zaljubljuje u lokalnog pastora po imenu Edmund (Alex MacQueen; Holby City, The Thick of It, The Inbetweeners). Nedugo zatim se i udaje za njega, ali nakon preseljenja u njegovu kuću, dolazi u sukob sa kućepaziteljkom Dorothy (Julia Davis; Nighty Night, Gavin & Stacey, Black Mirror), koja smatra da novopridošla supruga ni u kom slučaju ne može da zameni bivšu Edmundovu suprugu. Problemi sa kojima se Helene suočava još više se nagomilavaju - ona čuva jednu mračnu tajnu koju Dorothy nikako ne sme da sazna.

    Prva, od 8 epizoda ove serije, premijerno je prikazana 27. 8. 2012. na britanskom televizijskom kanalu Sky Atlantic HD.
